What is the recommended pitch when installing the rooflight?

Vario rooflights are flat glass rooflights. The installation pitch is 0–15 degrees, and the recommended installation pitch is 5 degrees, in order to avoid ponding water on the product.

Who can install my Vario by VELUX rooflight?

Vario by VELUX bespoke rooflights have an intuitive installation process which does not require any specialised skills. Installation can usually be done by your local contractor, roofer, or carpenter.

What is included in the installation including on-roof delivery and what should I have prepared?

Installation will be carried out by our Vario by VELUX Installers, who ensure the products are lifted safely onto the roof and installed in accordance with our principles, fulfilling the 10-year guarantee requirements. Our installers will weather the rooflight to the existing roofing material.

What to prepare before installation day:

1) Create the structural opening in the roof in accordance with the measurements of your rooflight (+30mm in length and width). See the installation manual.

2) Install the roofing material but leave a gap of min. 100mm around the roof opening for secure weathering.

3) Ensure the installation pitch is 5–15°, either through the roof pitch or by building an insulated wedge.

Important information: The installation service does not include electric component installation or internal finishing (plastering, painting, wiring, etc.).

On-roof delivery

We organise craning delivery to get products securely up onto the roof next to the opening. This service eases handling and eliminates complexity.

Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland: £1750 or €2000 (excl. VAT)

Installation including on-roof delivery

Installation is carried out by Vario by VELUX Installers, in accordance with our principles, fulfilling the 10-year guarantee requirements.

Mainland England and Wales: Up to 2 products £2250, 3–4 products £2850 (extra products £300 each)

Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland: Up to 2 products £2500 / €2850, 3–4 products £3100 / €3500 (extra products £300 / €350 each)
